Ray Terrill Dance Group proudly presents PULSE/impulse Emerging Choreographer Showcase—an engaging, family-friendly event that celebrates the fresh, innovative voices of choreographers shaping the future of Twin Cities dance.

This showcase includes freshly crafted dances by Lillian Kline (Algae Productions), Tessa Longshore, Katie Markey-Nash, and Gillian Wheaton, bringing an eclectic mix of movement styles and themes to the stage. The performances will run from March 28–30, 2025, at the Elision Playhouse in Crystal, MN.

FEATURED WORKS:

Tessa Longshore – Vignettes and Full-Length Works Longshore presents a mix of quirky solo vignettes alongside two longer pieces. One trio examines the interplay of relationships, gossip, and the environment, while the second—a solo —brims with eclectic and innovative movement.

Lillian Kline (Algae Productions) – “The Management” With an original sound score blending black hole recordings, boba ASMR, and pop samples, Kline uses her love of boba tea as a metaphor for modern life’s overwhelming demands. This debut piece from Algae Productions is a sensory and thought-provoking journey.

Katie Markey-Nash (Dance West) – “Sisters” Inspired by The Japanese House’s song Sister, this evocative piece explores the duality of self and the complexities of familial relationships. Markey-Nash invites audiences into a world where closeness and vulnerability collide with self-preservation.

Gillian Wheaton – “What Lies Between X and Y” This two-part exploration of gender and femininity begins with a reflection on societal expectations of women—from fresh-faced girls to career-driven women. The second piece, set to a haunting Mexican folk song about La Llorona, captures the resilience and endurance of marginalized voices.
