Minnesota Dance Consort Presents Memory, Momentum, and Meaning: A Personal Reflection on Fifty Years in Dance
An evening of five works by choreographer Ray Terrill, spanning a spectrum of dances from a fifty‑year career in modern danceSaint Paul, MN – July 26 – Minnesota Dance Consort will present Memory, Momentum, and Meaning: A Personal Reflection on Fifty Years in Dance, a retrospective concert celebrating Ray Terrill’s five decades of work in modern dance. Performances will take place at Elision Playhouse (6105 North 42nd Avenue, Crystal, MN 55422) on the following schedule: Thursday, August 28 at 8:00 PM • Friday, August 29 at 8:00 PM • Sunday, August 31 at 2:00 PMPlease note: There is no Saturday evening performance.
The program features a spectrum of dances created by Terrill over the course of his career:
• Interplay | still and moving — A meditation on presence and connection through movement and stillness.
• Voices — A stark exploration of power, fear, and the harsh consequences of collective complicity.
• Still Horizon — A portrait of ritual, hope, and quiet labor in a pastoral past.
• Litany — A poetic reflection on arrivals and departures, the transient passages that define a life.
• Remembrance | You Were Loved — An intimate remembrance of a mother’s love and the lasting imprint it leaves.
Performers include Jack Fischer, Gabby Garcia, Megan Gibbins, Lillian Kline, Tessa Longshore, Katie Markey-Nash, and Paulette Mattson, all members of Ray Terrill Dance Group (RTDG).

About Ray Terrill: Ray Terrill has been a vital voice in modern dance for five decades, creating dances marked by emotional depth and clarity of intent. He is the founding Artistic Director of Ray Terrill Dance Group (RTDG), whose members will perform in this retrospective program.
About Minnesota Dance Consort: Minnesota Dance Consort was established by Ray Terrill in 2025 to support and showcase dance makers by providing production resources, mentorship, and opportunities for new work. While this concert honors Terrill’s artistic legacy, MDC’s mission is to foster a sustainable platform for dance makers to create, share, and advance the culture of concert dance.
